About

Perched above the Tiracol River on the Goa–Maharashtra border, SeaSky Villa designed by JMA Mumbai. The residence follows the natural slope of the site, unfolding as a series of white volumes, terraces and open pavilions within the surrounding landscape.

Photographing the villa was as much about capturing its setting as it was the architecture itself. From elevated views, the residence appears almost embedded within an expansive canopy of dense tropical vegetation, with the river and distant hills forming the backdrop. Closer views shift the focus to the architecture through it's long horizontal lines, deep overhangs, colonnades and expansive glazing.

Inside, the photographs follow the same dialogue between built form and landscape. Warm timber surfaces and large openings are photographed through the changing natural light, allowing reflections, shadows and views to become part of the composition. The sequence moves between details and wide spatial frames, capturing the way the house opens itself toward the terrain.

At dusk, the character of the villa changes again. The white architecture becomes a quiet silhouette against the fading sky, while pools, terraces and interiors begin to glow.
